The blocks for Hayden's Bug Jar Quilt are all embroidered and framed. If you look closely you can see that each jar has vinyl to represent the glass. Click on the photo to enlarge it. I love the bright colors for the whimsical embroidered bugs. The first block shows the sashing. There will be another border and probably piping next to the binding. Hayden (my great nephew) is 3, so I think he will appreciate the bright colors and funny bugs. My favorite part of quilting is watching it all come together. See, all the mess below is worth it. I have most of the thread put away and I am working on the fabric stash!
Yvonne, this is so very cute. I love it! It is perfect for a 3 year old. What a great job you did. Winona
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a really fun set of blocks! The embroidery certainly is so whimsical! Great work.
ReplyDeleteHow did you do the embroidery Yvonne. Perfect quilt for any young boy! Thanks for linking up to lush friday. Andrea
ReplyDeleteVery cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThe great nephews are doing well this week I finished the top for a great nephew too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments everyone. Andrea, the embroidery is by machine. It takes longer than you would think to complete one block even by machine. It's probably around an hour to complete a block: stabilizing, hooping, changing thread, and ironing.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is way too cute! A super work of love for your great nephew ... sure to be an heirloom! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAaaaaw! Those bugs are so cute! He's going to love it :)
